Vivek Oberoi steals the show
May 25, 2007

It’s but natural for the crowd to applaud when the deadly Sanjay Dutt comes to any do, but at this filmi do which took place on Thursday night, it was Vivek Oberoi who received the maximum applause and whistles! Not only did the audience clap loudly while the man in question took centre-stage, they literally went wild as he shook a leg with Mika and Rohit Roy to the latest chartbuster! Even as all the cheering and clapping was going on, Sanjay Gupta and Apoorva Lakhia were spotted welcoming the guests together. And looking at their camaraderie, it seemed all rumours of problems brewing between the two was just that — rumours! AA Khan came along with daughter Alisha and his grandson Aamir. Dia Mirza, Aarti Chhabria and Lara Dutta seemed to have come straight from the sets of Umrao Jaan — they had all worn Lucknawi outfits! Suniel Shetty was one of the earliest ones to arrive and spent time in the company of both the Sanjays — Dutt and Gupta. Saif Ali Khan arrived almost at the end of the show but stayed on for the post party. And it was at the party that everyone let their hair down, literally! The dance floor was never empty as Apoorva pulled everyone to dance. Bilal and Faisal of Strings, who had regaled the audience earlier with their songs, were seen rocking the dance floor. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif (looking stunning in a red outfit) were also seen here. Vivek however, didn’t stay on for the post party. Is it maybe because a certain Abhishek Bachchan came in for a while, sans wife Aishwarya, and was expected to stay on for it? He didn’t but till that time, Vivek had already left. Others spotted at the do were Tusshar Kapoor, who was accompanied by sis Ekta Kapoor and Jeetendra, Homi Adajania, Sangeeta Bijlani and Rakesh Roshan and daughter Sunaina.
