After Priyanka, Chitrangada goes Scuba diving

Recently Priya Dutt’s campaign manager had sent out press notes on how Priya is not just a parliamentarian, she’s also a keen scuba diver. Now, it is Chitrangda Singh’s turn. Chitrangda is playing an interesting third angle with Farhan Akhtar and Kareena Kapoor in a film being directed by her mentor, Sudhir Mishra.
But till that takes off, Chitra is rolling in adventure. She just returned home (yes, Delhi) for a vacation. And just before that, she made her way to Phi Phi Islands (in Thailand) and had an encounter with a sea-turtle. “I’ve heard about the turtle’s bite. It’s damn dangerous! I went scuba diving 36 feet below water and actually touched a sea-turtle.
Can you believe that?” she said enthusiastically. And Chitrangda has been singing the turtle song ever since!

It’s a given that Priyanka Chopra is a style icon who is an inspiration to many young girls. But guess what, it’s just not her fans, even other actresses seem to be taking a leaf out of the lady’s book. And one among them is Tanushree Dutta who seems to bear a striking resemblance to Piggy Chops in her latest avtaar.
Tanushree, who has time and again been criticised for her fluctuating weight, has gone very hep and stylish for her role in Jagmohan Mundhra’s latest offering titled Apartment co-starring Neetu Chandra and Rohit Roy. Playing an ultra glamorous role, not only has the actress slimmed down and toned up, Tanushree has chopped off her flowing locks and gone for a sleek, shoulder-length bob cut. We must admit, the look suits her well. After some de-glam and very forgettable roles, seems like the actress is set to hit the screen again with vengeance and this time in a very sexy and gorgeous way.
No Nude Scenes For Nandana Sen

Nandana Sen recently turned down two Hollywood projects as they had a couple of nude sequences which she wasn’t comfortable doing. She was offered an Italian film based on a story by Mahasweta Devi called Choli ke peeche.
But though the story and the role were great, it was the nude scenes that made the actress reject the movie. Nandana says, “I feel the subject matter is such that nudity cannot be avoided.” Trust producer-boyfriend Madhu Mantena must be proud of his girl.
Mallika Milkshake is as sinful as the Real Item Girl

The Americans cannot get enough of our Mallika Sherawat, it seems. And no, we don’t mean the cold beverage made with blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and topped with chocolate sauce and whipped cream that’s named after the hot Bollywood actress and is available at ‘Millions of Milkshakes’ in west Hollywood. Though, foodies who have greedily gulped it down, say wickedly that the Mallika Milkshake is as sinful as they imagine the real item to be! Not even Victoria Beckham and Paris Hilton, who share the dubious distinction of having milkshakes named after them at this Hollywood hotspot, have got such rave reviews. But never mind milkshakes in America, tattlers are buzzing about recognition and honour coming Mallika’s way just like that in the US.
On Friday, she was presented a prestigious Arts Awards by the Mayor of Jersey City for her “unparalleled contributions to and influence on the Indian diaspora”. The event was organised to honour the Indian community and its contributions to the United States. Jersey City has a large population of South Asians. Apparently politicians, business persons, and members of the press attended the event to get a closer glimpse of Mallika. Several hundred Indians, too, who complain that they never get enough of the actress on screen. Maybe it’s high time Bollywood reckonised that as well.
Parvathy Omanakuttan Ready For Bollywood

Former Pantaloons Femina Miss India World Parvathy Omanakuttan is all set to make her Bollywood debut. “Yes, I have a few offers and I am thinking about them. I am taking Kathak lessons currently and want to be careful before I take up any project,” she says. Okay, now that she is readying herself for her filmi innings, who does she want to share screen space with? “I would love to dance with Madhuri Dixit in a film,” pat comes the reply.
Parvathy adds that when she is not thinking films, she is busy spending time with her four-month-old nephew Slok. First-time voter, Parvathy says, “I will cast my vote for sure. This is the first time that I am going to have my say in the democracy but I must admit that I am confused who to vote for!”
Lara Dutta in a Sexy Bikini For Blue

Like her string bikini, Lara Dutta’s been tied up too – with work. The hot actress made a touch-n-go visit to Delhi recently, but it was all business. “I’m very busy with my film Blue. I’ve been quite tied up with it,” she says. So what’s the movie about? “Blue is fab. It’s been fantastic to be a part of this huge-budget, big-cast film. We’ve attempted something of this sort for the first time. We’ll have to wait and see how it turns out, though,” she adds.
The ex-Miss India says she was quite at sea when it came to swimming, but she learnt it from scratch for the film – just like she mustered the courage to do some daredevil stunts. “Yes, I’ve done things that I’ve never done before. Akki (Akshay Kumar), who’s a stunt master, coaxed me into doing these things. It’s a completely new realm for me. I learnt to swim… and also got a diver’s license! I guess this is the first time that a film has added so much more to my personality, rather than me just being part of a film and then moving on,” she says.
And what about shooting with Kylie Minogue, who’s done an AR Rahman-composed song for the film? “Kylie has a special song. Akki, Zayed (Khan), Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) and I are a part of it too. I have to say that Kylie’s one of the most approachable international celebs I know,” she says.
Speaking of approaching, Lara also approached – and came pretty close to – some sharks while shooting for Blue. “I wasn’t in
the scene with the sharks, but I got so jealous that everybody else had scenes with them, that I actually went on a dive with the rest of the cast. I took the plunge only because I didn’t want to be the only one to have no scenes with sharks!” she laughs.
Lara has three more films in her kitty – Do Knot Disturb, Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai and Houseful, which she’ll begin soon. She had refused to act in the Hollywood flick The Matrix very long ago – does she regret her decision now that Indian actors have become the reigning flavour in Hollywood? “Not at all. Even today, regardless of the work that’s coming our way as Indian actors, I’d rather to do something substantial. If I do cinema that comes out of North America, I’d rather do films that don’t feature actors purely because they’re trying to find those generic kind of roles to fit into. I don’t want to be cast just as a hot, exotic Indian babe. That happens a lot more with European and North American cinema,” she says.
And does she have no time for love? “When I was in a relationship, I never hid it from the world. The day I’m in something (a relationship) that I believe is sacred and solid, I’d be more than happy to admit it. But I need to find that person. I came out of a really long relationship. Yes, I’m friends with the people I keep getting written about (read Dino Morea). But up till now, I can safely say that I’m just testing the waters,” she says. And looking pretty good while she’s at it!
Sexy Neetu Chandra Changes 37 Costumes for a Shoot

It’s a tedious process for any actress to get in and out of costumes so you can imagine Neetu Chandra’s plight when she had to change into 37 dresses, all for just one scene for Jagmohan Mundhra’s film Apartment! She says, “We were shooting in a mall and had permission for just three hours to shoot.
The scene was to show my make-over from a small town girl to a glamourous one and for that, I had change over 37 differnt costumes.” Apart from being a tiring process, it was a painful one for Neetu too as she recently had a hairline fracture. “It was such a pain!” she admits but she completed the scene quickly. “Jag sir had a lot of confidence in me to pull off the shoot, so I just had to do it. It was a tedious job but I had been waiting for a role like this!” she adds.
Aishwarya – Abhishek is a Star match Made in Heaven

I still remember that evening when Mr Bachchan called to say his son had got engaged. “We’re at Aishwarya’s place and Jaya and I have just asked for Aishwarya’s hand for our son from her parents.” Some marital associations are made in heaven. Aishwarya and Abhishek were meant to be together. I had a small hand in how Ash (I hate calling her that) became Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. One day close to wedding I was teasing her about how Aishwarya Bachchan would sound… Or would she continue to be called by her brand name Aishwarya Rai? I pointed out to her Rai is part of Abhishek’s ancestral name. His grandfather was Harivanshrai Bachchan, remember? That’s how Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was born.
Two years into the marriage she wears the Bachchan name with the pride of a delicate family jewel. Never over-stated. It’s amazing to see how beautifully Aishwarya has adjusted into the Bachchan household. On any average day when she is in town you can see her at Jalsa sharing the household responsibilities with the lady of the house. Within Jalsa Aishwarya has in two years established an amazing rapport with all the members of the household. Jaya gave up her career at its prime. Aishwarya is today doing more films than she did before marriage. In his support of his wife’s career, Abhishek reminds me of the husband in yet another super-successful filmdom alliance. Saira Banu always tells me how the mighty Yusuf Saab not only encouraged her to keep working after marriage he goaded her into signing films. Abhishek is one of the most-devoted husbands in the film industry.
I was recently talking to another star-husband who manages to steer clear of temptation. I asked him how. “Tight underpants,” he deadpanned. I think it takes a little more than just self-control. Star marriages specially when both the parties are in the limelight require loads of selflessness.
Lara Dutta Dino Morea Break up? Is Nandita Mahtani responsible?

Ouch darlings. It really kills us to see any ‘good looking’ relationship heading down the tube. Which is the way the Lara Dutta and Dino Morea ‘affair’ seems to be heading. A li’l birdie tells us that it was Dino’s ‘renewed interest’ in ex-girlfriend Nandita Mahtani and their ‘rejuvenated alliance’ that really got to the no-nonsense Lara.
It’s apparently irritated her enough to call it ‘off ’ and walk out of l’affaire Morea. In fact, when an enterprising Zoom journo broke the story on Planet Bollywood last week and ‘cornered’ Dino in front of the camera, he made some excuse about his car causing ‘a traffic jam’ and fled. Nandita too, when faced with the cameras, simply ‘tut-tutted’ and walked away. Neither of them denying or admitting to it. But spare a thought for poor Lara.

The Kunal Khemu and Soha Ali Khan Affair

This is about Soha Ali Khan and matters of her heart.
There were murmurs about Kunal Khemu and Soha being the new ‘couple’ in B-town. We heard that Kunal drove all the way to be at Mohit Suri’s birthday bash in Pune (where he was wrapping up a shoot with Soha).
But eating Mohit’s birthday cake wasn’t the only reason he drove so much. Apparently Kunal wanted to snatch a few moments with Soha; and this was a great chance to do so without attracting much attention.
We hear that Kunal has been going all out to impress Ms S, and has even learnt to strum the guitar strings.
