Cameron Diaz loves to have curvier posterior
July 31, 2008
Actress Cameron Diaz is desperate for ‘a big bum’. The What Happens In Vegas star — famed for her slender figure — admits she would love to have a curvier posterior. She said: “I have an active lifestyle. I love to surf, snowboard, play golf and hike.
I also love to read a book, because that is mental athletics! Actually, I’d prefer to put on weight rather than lose it. I like women with curves. I want a big bum!” Cameron also revealed her inner confidence comes from her family praising her as she grew up. She added: “I was given a lot of confidence as a child, probably too much if you ask some people! I was always the troublemaker. It was definitely easier being the younger one. My poor sister had to go through all the trials first. Then my parents allowed me to do the things they never allowed her to do!”
Sonia Singh loves playing a Vamp
July 31, 2008
Sonia Singh, better known as Dr Kirti of the serial Dill Mill Gaye is overjoyed these days. The vampturned-good girl is busy livin’ it up to the rectitude of her reel-life character. “After a spate of negative roles, finally, I have got to play characters that have no vampish traits. I am enjoying every bit of it,” says the vivacious actress. Sonia says she’s enjoying every bit of her role as Dr Kirti. “It gives me a high whenever I am addressed as Dr Kirti, who is obsessed with discipline while at work, but is totally bindaas the moment she steps out of the hospital. I just love the different shades of her character,” says Sonia. And she adds that her long-time wish to do a double role has also come true, as she plays the character of Kanak in the serial Naagin.
The actress whose powerful performance as Kumkum’s daughter-in-law Antara earned her a nomination for favourite khalnayika at a recent awards show, feels it’s her curly hair and large, expressive eyes that make her an ideal choice for negative roles. “Whenever I have auditioned, the negative role would automatically come to me. To be honest, I enjoyed doing that to the hilt. It’s a challenge to play a vamp. There is a lot of scope to perform, play with the eyes and experiment with clothes and looks. I can’t play a dumb doll or do too much of rona-dhona like the sanskari bahu in the saasbahu serials,” chirps Sonia. But exposure and bold scenes are a strict no-no for her. That’s the reason she turned down an offer of a bold role with Amitabh Bachchan in a Bollywood flick recently. “It could have been the turning point in my career but I decided against it as the role demanded some very bold scenes. I steer clear of exposure. I want to be known for my acting skills,” says the actress. Sonia will soon be seen in a dance-based reality show. “Dance has always been a passion and this show will be a wonderful opportunity to utilise my talents,” she adds.
Govinda and Salman will be seen together again
July 31, 2008
Support for the currently beleaguered Salman Khan has come from unexpected quarters. The maverick MP-actor Govinda, who did Partner last year with Salman, is determined to fight for the macho actor until his last breath. “Salmanbhai is constantly under attack.
But, like me, he doesn’t retaliate to backbiting. So our detractors believe they can go on hitting us. Yet Salmanbhai is the hero of the masses,” says Govinda. And eager to keep a good thing going, Govinda declares that he will tie a black thread (“kissiki nazar na lage”) around their friendship.
The two are slated to return together on screen for a sequel to Partner in March 2009 to be directed David Dhawan. Sohail Khan will produce the sequel of the warring buddies that was borrowed from the Will Smith comedy Snitch. “This time, the film will be based on another idea,” says Govinda.
Hollywood Producers interested in Kareena
July 31, 2008
This, it looks like, will be the big year of Kareena Kapoor. In her new avatar with size zero adding considerable oomph value to her drop-dead gorgeous looks, the actress is making heads turn internationally.
Last week at Universal Studio in LA, where she is shooting with Akshay Kumar for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kambakkht Ishq, Kareena caught Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone’s attention. The Rocky and Rambo actor, who has a bit part in the film, was taken in by her beauty and apparently has not stopped talking about the Indian actress.
Hollywood agents, quick to follow Stallone’s cue, began dropping in on Nadiadwala’s sets to check out Kareena and have been making inquires about her. Sources say the Bollywood hottie has had a few hush-hush meetings with some top Hollywood executives and is likely to be making a big career announcement soon.
When we asked Kareena about this, she replied noncommitally, “It’s the right time for Bollywood with so many avenues and doors opening up on a global scale. The possibilities are immense. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed.”
But it’s not only through Kambakkth Ishq that the actress has gone global. She recently did the cover of an international magazine for
which she was styled by Nicole Kidman’s stylist Desiree and shot by famous fashion photographer Trevor Leighton. Besides, international R&B and pop icon Sean Kingston has also mentioned her as Bollywood’s numero uno in the remake of his chartbuster Beautiful Girls, now named Bollywood Girls.
