No sexy dress for Muskan
June 12, 2008

She’s just 19 years old but you won’t find Muskan playing the typical college-going girl in mini-skirts on television. Instead, the young actress can be seen in a salwarkameez avataar, playing Vaishnavi in SaharaOne’s Mata Ki Chowki. “I’ve done college going kind of characters earlier, so when I got a chance to play this role, I said yes,” says Muskan. But she admits that she was a bit apprehensive intially since she she’s so young. “But then I thought that actors should not be bound by age limitations. There are so many actresses who’re young but are playing bahu and daadi roles,” she adds.
The other reason she accepted the role was because like her character Vaishnavi, Muskan too is a firm believer in God. “In fact, I believe in all Gods. I visit the church, temple and Gurdwara regularly,” Also, like Vaishnavi, Muskan says that she too is a level-headed and calm girl. “Even in difficult situations, my smile doesn’t leave my face,” she says. Guess her parents did the right thing by naming her Muskan! “Yes, I guess you can say that,” she says with a smile.
Originally from Delhi, Muskan has been living in Mumbai for the past one-and-a-half-years. “I miss home a lot but Mumbai has given me so much,” she says. Prior to Mata Ki Chowki, Muskan has appeared in a few commercials and even acted in the show Thodi Khushi Thode Gham. “By God’s grace, I might be doing a Hindi film soon too but it’s a little early to talk about it,” she says. As for leaving TV once she’s in Bollywood, Muskan says, “Television is my priority. I won’t ever leave TV for films.” Now, haven’t we heard this line before?!
The Great Khali with Anne Hathaway
June 12, 2008

While The Great Khali, aka Dalip Singh Rana’s Bollywood debut is still much-awaited here, the wrestler has already taken Hollywood by storm. After The Longest Yard, Khali will now be seen in the Anne Hathaway and Steve Carrell spy thriller Get Smart.
And while he does get to showcase his muscle-power in all it’s glory as the baddie out to get the good guys, what promises to be a show stealer is a shocking smooch sequence that Khali shares with his co-star Anne. Interestingly, all this action takes place mid-air. Though studio bosses are keeping mum, a source confirms, “Anne and Khali do share a ten-second smooch mid-air.” Reluctant to divulge any details, the source adds, “It’s part of a highoctane chase sequence, where Khali is hot on the trail of Agent 99 and Maxwell Smart, played by Anne and Steve respectively.” A film adaptation of Mel Brooks’ hit 1960’s spy parody television show Get Smart, the film also stars Masi Oka, Terence Stamp, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Bill Murray.
